HMRC notifications
by Carl PurbrickThe HMRC are still issuing some notifications querying the tax treatment of customers, they currently have this on their telephone queueing system.
If you are calling because you have received a ‘GNS’ message stating that the tax treatment used was not as expected – we are aware of this issue, please ignore the ‘GNS’
The economic bounce back
by Carl PurbrickToday's construction figures are far from gloomy. They suggest that over the next year the business confidence will return after the concerns of the referendum result.

“Generic Notification”
by Carl PurbrickIt has come to our attention that a very small percentage of people have been notified by the HMRC via a “Generic Notification” that there is a query on the tax treatment of some of their subcontractors. It appears that the HMRC recently updated the software and this is an issue their end that they are working on. Please let us know if you have any notifications so that we can keep an eye on this
Zepto Virus alert
by Carl PurbrickWe have had 3 customers who have been with the Zepto virus in the last 2 weeks, on each occasion they have had to reload a backup.
Please ensure that your virus protection is up to date, and that you take regular backups, (something we know some of you are not very good at). When was the last time you took a backup? How much work would you have to re-enter if that had to be loaded? Please ensure you take regular backups and if you don’t use cloud systems use more than on backup set (if you had the virus on the backup it would be of no use, so have separate devices for each day of the week for example)
Make sure any virus is not a disaster, backup regularly and reliably
